2025 Award by the Complex Systems Society

Guido Caldarelli, Director of the Institute of Complex Systems of the CNR and full Professor of Theoretical Physics at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems (DSMN) of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, has been awarded the Senior Scientific Award 2025 by the Complex Systems Society (CSS). The prize, one of the most prestigious worldwide in the field of complexity science, is granted annually to a senior scientist who has made fundamental and lasting contributions to the discipline.

The CSS has honored Prof. Caldarelli for his pioneering contributions to the theory of complex networks. In particular, his seminal works on the formation of networks from disordered systems, on network growth models, and on the applications of network theories to economics and finance were highlighted, establishing the foundations of the field of financial networks.
