The Italian Chemical Society in collaboration with the pharmaceutical company Italfarmaco awarded Dr Jana Aupič from CNR-Institute Officina dei Materiali (IOM) in Trieste the prestigious Biological Systems Chemistry Division @ItalianChemicalSociety – Italfarmaco “Gastone De Santis” Award 2025 for her work on synthetic ribozymes and on the role of sugar conformation in enzymatic activity.
Her study opens new perspectives for understanding molecular mechanisms and for the development of synthetic enzymes.
Since 2024, Dr Aupič has been a researcher at IOM institute, with research activities focused on exploring the molecular mechanisms underlying RNA maturation and modifications through computational methods.
